Cleft Asunder Says:
When I woke up this morning I asked myself: What are some of the secrets of success in life? I found the answer right there in my very room. The Fan said - Be cool. The Roof said - Aim high. The Window said - See the world. The Clock said - Every minute is precious. The Mirror said - Reflect before you act. The Door said - Push hard for your goals. And don't forget, the Carpet said - Kneel down & pray

Fashion is a Weapon for the insecure.
Ive got this excellent book on how to write for comedy and I was looking over it again recently in helping me write a script and I come up on this bit I had highlighted:
"As individuals(regardless of status), our humor is generally directed upward against more authoritative figures. In group setting, our humor is directed downward toward groups that don't conform to our social, religious, national, or sexual mores.
Freud's explanation is that "A good bit of humor is oriented to maintaining the status quo by ridiculing deviant social behavior and reassuring the majority that their way of life is proper....It is used as a weapon of the 'ins' against the 'outs.'"
(Extract from Comedy Writing Secrets by Melvin Helitzer)
The reason I am quoting this is to do with my "Anti-Fashion" project and the quote by Freud really made me think that 'Fashion' is really a weapon used by people interested in upholding the status quo. People who try to uphold the status quo I would like to refer to them as the 'slaves to society'.
Something for you too think about is who are the ones that set up the status quo in the first place?

The GTD process, 5 steps to a much more productive lifestyle
The GTD process, 5 steps to a much more productive lifestyle:
1.Collect - If you see something you like, read something you enjoy or something to do; write it down either in a note book or on any thing and put it in an in tray.
2.Process - What are the Successful Outcomes and how to do it.
3.Organise - Whatever you are doing next, put them into these categories:
@Agenda
(For stuff that you need to speak to someone about)
@Calls
(For stuff that you need to call people on)
@Errands
(For stuff that you need to do outside home or office)
@Computer
(For stuff that you need to do on your computer)
@Home
(For stuff that you need to do at Home)
There are two additional helfpul categories that are worthwhile making:
@Waiting For
(Stuff that you are waiting for eg. The Baker to bake his cake after you’ve given the order)
@Someday/Maybe
(Projects that you don’t want to take up now, but would like to keep a note of so that you can maybe take it up someday.)
Review and then do.
Really easy and helpful process, check the link below for more info:
